The Kids

From Glitchtale Wiki

The Kids are a specific group of six young children with varied personalities, abilities, and stories that appear in certain episodes of Season 2. Each featured child has a different soul representing the standard 6 Human Soul traits.

Robin

Robin is a young girl with a Bravery Soul who was at the school when the Bete Noire unleashed her blobs to attack and take Human Souls.

Appearance & Personality

Robin wears an orange sweater with a lighter orange collar, tan pants, and brown shoes. Her bob cut hair is colored orange, cut short with spiky ends, and with a large strand slanted across her face.

As expected of her trait, Robin steps up to fight and protect others in dangerous situations; but despite this virtue, her disobedience of directions to stay safe unintentionally kills one of her friends.

History

Do or Die

In the chaos during Bete Noire's attack on the school, Robin helps two other children, named Cam and Abigail, by destroying the tentacle of an attacking blob. While she encourages them to hurry and find a safe place, Toriel arrives and thanks her for her bravery while commanding the three kids to find a safe area.

Instead, the children remain in the school hallway as Robin asks Cam about a missing person. He explains that his little sister, Lily, was at the cafeteria prior to the attack, but that he was unable to find her and pleads to Abigail and Robin for their help. They witness Frisk arrive to destroy a pink blob nearby who accepts Cam's offer to find Lily.

Although thankful, Robin addresses the issue of finding her in the chaotic, blob-infested school. At a distance, they spot a distressed Lily being chased by a blob, so Frisk supports them by trapping another creature blocking their path and allowing them to go after her.

When Cam calls out to his little sister again and hears her voice in another room, he rushes over without hesitation, ignoring Robin's warning to wait for her. As a result, the older brother takes the hit of a surprise-attacking blob and is killed in front of the traumatized Lily.

Love

Part 1

Robin is later seen running in the school hallway and carrying a grief-stricken Lily in her arms when she encounters Toriel again, fighting off more blobs. The surprised teacher warns her that the area is dangerous and of the high risk that she and the other children could get hurt or killed. Upon hearing this, Robin's expression grows sad and she apologizes, but she hears two blobs nearby move closer to them and is commanded by Toriel to leave.

Hugo

Hugo is a young boy with a Justice Soul, appearing alongside his friend Zachary and Zachary's mother as they wandered the blob-infested city streets in search of Ronan and Undyne in order to warn them about a bigger threat.

Appearance & Personality

Like his father, Ronan, Hugo takes on a similar appearance through his scruffy long hair (although colored yellow due to his trait instead of brown), a light tan baseball cap, a darkened gold sweater contrasted by a bright yellow-orange collar, and pants to match his sweater with darker shoes.

Not only are their appearances similar; both father and son proudly display their traits in their actions. However, Hugo is more reckless and willing to run into danger in an effort to help others - much to Ronan's distress and disapproval.

History

Game Over

Part 2

Coming from the school, Hugo first appears with Zachary and Zachary's mother in a group wandering the city streets looking for Ronan. They find Undyne and she tells them to go back to the school before they get hurt, but Hugo pleads with her to listen to an important issue.

Zachary's mother explains to Undyne about her blind son's special ability to sense magical energy, that the police would not listen to his pleas, and sought Hugo's help to bring them to the one in charge. She then urges Zachary to say what he saw. He states that tiny dots were moving underneath the city, gathering into one spot, and becoming more and more threatening.

Stricken with fear, the group is interrupted when Ronan yells at them, reprimanding his son for not being in a safe place. Hugo tries to explain that he wanted to help his friend locate the police chief but Zachary suddenly notices the blobs underground moving near Jessica and Gaster's location and the two cops decide to move quickly. Hugo begins to ask if he can help too, but his father refuses and orders him to go back to the school with the group immediately.

As Ronan and Undyne destroy blobs spawned by the Kumuzilla, one of the creatures slithers behind Ronan and Undyne prepares to aim her spear, but her PTSD of mistakenly killing Alphys forces her to hesitate again. Instead, Hugo arrives to shoot the attacking creature mid-air. However, a larger blob suddenly appears behind him and Hugo is pushed away from its attack, forcing Ronan to take the hit twice. He cries out to his unconscious dad as Undyne realizes more creatures are approaching. He is later seen near Ronan's body as Undyne tries to protect the two of them from more threats.

Hate

Hugo is with Undyne as she carries an unconscious Ronan to a safer area. He tells her that they need to get to the school quickly to get his father medical help, but Undyne states how hard it will be to safely avoid every pink creature. Hugo suggests fighting, but Undyne doesn't want to risk it and can only carry one of them. Ronan regains consciousness and tells Undyne to leave him behind and take Hugo, much to his son's dismay.

The Kumuzilla then collapses a massive building on the three of them. Undyne is terrified when Hugo escapes through her grip and jumps into his father's arms, unable to leave him. Undyne then remembers Ronan's comforting words and telling her that she should use her pain as energy to fight for others' well-being. She then musters up her courage, summons multiple spears, and sends them flying upwards, holding the falling rocks up. However, the rocks' massive weight begins to crack the spears.

After an inner talk with Alphys, Undyne musters up her Determination again and transforms back into her Undying form. Sending a vertical storm of spears, she destroys collapsing building. Hugo is shocked, alongside his father, by Undyne's immense power. She tells them that they need to focus on getting themselves to a safe place and assures them that she'd somehow been able to deal with the Kumuzilla afterward.

Hugo is later seen after Rave heals Ronan. He leaves his son with Rave's officers, to be returned to the school, while assuring his son that he'll stay safe this time.

Lily

Lily is a very young girl with a Kindness Soul who was at the school when the Bete Noire unleashed her blobs to harvest souls.

Appearance & Personality

Lily wears a green sweater with only a slightly lighter green collar, a long green dress with lighter green shorts underneath, and brown boots. Her brown hair is tied up into a ponytail with a green hair elastic.

Lily is a very grateful child, as seen when she immediately thanks her older brother, Cam, when he saves her from a blob. She is also understandably traumatized after witnessing his death, when he saves her again.

History

Do or Die

Bete launches her attack on the school during the soul harvest. There, Lily is being looked for by her brother when he wasn't able to find her in the cafeteria, the last place they were at. He then spots her in the hallways, running from a pink creature, and saves her with his Kindness magic when it corners her.

As they run to safety, however, a pink blob sneak-attacks them and she witnesses her brother take the lethal blow in her place.

Love

Part 1

Lily, filled with grief, is being carried by Robin before the latter is ordered by Toriel to find somewhere safe to hide.

Abigail

Abigail is a young girl with a Patience Soul who was at the school when the Bete Noire unleashed her blobs to attack and take Human Souls.

Appearance & Personality

Abigail wears a light blue sweater, with an even lighter blue collar, and tan pants. She has long, slightly wavy, and very dark gray colored hair that has two points covering each of her cheeks.

Abigail is portrayed as being more timid than the other children she is with during the attack and is worried for their safety.

History

Do or Die

During Bete Noire's attack on the school, Abigail is cornered by a pink blob. She is saved by Cam, who blocks its penetrating tantacle with his Kindness shield. When the shield is about to break, Cam is saved by Robin, who destroys the tentacle. Toriel then arrives and tells the three of them to find a safe place.

However, the children remain in the hallways as Robin asks Cam about his missing sister. He explains that his little sister, Lily, was at the cafeteria prior to the attack, but that he was unable to find her and asks Abigail and Robin for their help. Abigail then notices a blob coming toward them. To her delight though, Frisk arrives to destroy it and accepts Cam's offer to find Lily. They then spot a distressed Lily being chased by a blob, so Frisk supports them by trapping another creature and allowing them to go save her.

Zachary

Zachary is a young boy with an Integrity Soul, appearing alongside his mother and his friend, Hugo, as they wandered the blob-infested city streets in search of Ronan and Undyne to warn them about a bigger threat.

Appearance & Personality

Zachary wears a blue shirt with a slightly darker blue collar. His blueish-purple hair is spiky and leans more to one side than the other.

In line with his trait of Integrity, Zachary sticks to what he thinks is right and goes out of his way, out in the city streets and despite the danger, to inform Undyne about the imminent threat to the city.

Seth

Seth is a young Boy with a Perserverance Soul who was at the arena when Bete Noire started killing the humans there.

Appearance & Personality

Seth wears a purple shirt with a white collar, gray pants, and even darker gray shoes. His hair is purple and straight, with one side extending far down enough to where it covers his right eye.

Not much is seen from him other than his fear of Bete. It's possible that this makes it impossible to see anything his trait has to show at the moment.

History

Game Over

Part 2

After Bete destroys a barrier mounted around the arena, then kills a man, followed by a Justice-Souled woman, she sees Seth on the ground nearby, terrified.

She briefly pokes fun at his fear before getting ready to kill him, but Mettaton flashes a vaporizing spotlight on her and pulls Seth to safety. He then tells Seth to go and hide while he buys time for reinforcements.
