The Kids

From Glitchtale Wiki

The Kids are a group of six young children with varied personalities, abilities, and stories. They appear in certain episodes of Season 2. Each featured child has a different soul, representing one the standard six Human soul traits.

Robin

Robin is a young girl with a Bravery soul who was at the school when the Bete Noire unleashed her blobs to take Human souls.

Appearance & Personality

Robin wears an orange sweater with a lighter orange collar, tan pants, and brown shoes. Her bob cut hair is colored orange, cut short with spiky ends, and has a large strand slanted across her forehead.

As expected of her trait, Robin steps up to fight and protect others in dangerous situations, but despite this virtue, her disobedience unintentionally gets one of her friends killed.

History

Do or Die

In the chaos during Bete Noire's attack on the school, Robin helps two other children, named Cam and Abigail, by destroying the tentacle of an attacking blob. While she encourages them to find a safe place, Toriel arrives and thanks her for her bravery, while commanding the three kids to find a safe area.

Instead, the children remain in the school hallway, as Robin asks Cam about a missing person. He explains that his little sister, Lily, was at the cafeteria prior to the attack, but that he was unable to find her. He pleads to Abigail and Robin for their help, then they all witness Frisk arrive and destroy a pink blob nearby. Frisk then accepts Cam's offer to find Lily.

Although thankful, Robin addresses the issue of finding her in the chaotic, blob-infested school. They spot a distressed Lily being chased by a blob, so Frisk supports them by trapping another creature blocking their path, allowing Cam and Robin to go after her.

When Cam calls out to his little sister again and hears her voice in another room, he rushes over without hesitation, ignoring Robin's warning to wait for her. As a result, the older brother takes the hit of a surprise-attacking blob, and is killed in front of a traumatized Lily.

Love

Part 1

Robin is later seen running in the school hallway, carrying a grief-stricken Lily. She encounters Toriel again, who is fighting off more blobs. The surprised teacher warns her that the area is dangerous. Upon hearing this, Robin apologizes, but she hears two blobs nearby move closer to them. She is then commanded by Toriel to leave.

Hugo

Hugo is a young boy with a Justice soul, appearing alongside his friend Zachary and his mother, as they wander the blob-infested city streets. They’re in search of Ronan and Undyne in order to warn them about a bigger threat.

Appearance & Personality

Like his father, Ronan, Hugo takes on a similar appearance through his scruffy long hair (although colored yellow instead of brown). He also wears a light tan baseball cap, a darkened gold sweater contrasted by a bright yellow-orange collar, pants to match his sweater, and gray shoes.

Not only are their appearances similar; both father and son proudly display their traits in their actions. However, Hugo is more reckless and willing to run into danger in an effort to help others, much to Ronan's distress and disapproval.

History

Game Over

Part 2

Coming from the school, Hugo first appears with Zachary and his mother in a group wandering the city streets, looking for Ronan. They find Undyne and she tells them to go back to the school before they get hurt, but Hugo pleads with her to listen to an important issue.

Zachary's mother explains to Undyne her blind son's special ability to sense magical energy, how the police would not listen to his pleas, and that she sought Hugo's help to bring them to the one in charge. She then urges Zachary to say what he saw. He states that tiny dots were moving underneath the city, gathering into one spot, and becoming more and more threatening.

Stricken with fear, the group is interrupted when Ronan yells at them, reprimanding his son for not being in a safe place. Hugo tries to explain that he wanted to help his friend locate the police chief, but Zachary suddenly notices the blobs underground moving near Jessica’s and Gaster's location, so the two cops decide to move quickly. Hugo begins to ask if he can help too, but his father refuses and orders him to go back to the school immediately.

As Ronan and Undyne destroy blobs spawned by The Kumuzilla, one of the creatures slithers behind Ronan, and Undyne prepares to aim her spear at it. However, her PTSD of accidentally killing Alphys forces her to hesitate again. Instead, Hugo arrives to shoot the attacking creature. However, a larger blob suddenly appears behind him and Hugo is pushed away from its attack by his father, forcing Ronan to take two direct hits. Hugo cries out to his unconscious dad as Undyne realizes more creatures are approaching. He is later seen near Ronan's body as Undyne tries to protect the two of them from more threats.

Hate

Hugo is with Undyne as she carries an unconscious Ronan to a safer area. He tells her that they need to get to the school quickly to get his father medical help, but Undyne states how hard it will be to safely avoid every pink creature. Hugo suggests fighting, but Undyne doesn't want to risk it and can only carry one of them. Ronan regains consciousness and tells Undyne to leave him behind and take Hugo, much to his son's dismay.

The Kumuzilla then collapses a massive building on the three of them. Undyne is terrified when Hugo escapes through her grip and jumps into his father's arms, unable to leave him. Undyne then remembers Ronan's comforting words, telling her that she should use her pain as energy to fight for others' well-being. She then musters up her courage, summons multiple spears, and sends them flying upwards, holding the falling rocks up. However, the rocks' massive weight begins to crack the spears.

After an inner talk with Alphys, Undyne musters up her Determination and transforms back into her Undying form. Sending up a storm of spears, she destroys the collapsing building. Hugo and Ronan are shocked by Undyne's immense power. She tells them that they need to focus on getting themselves to a safe place, and assures them that she'd somehow be able to deal with The Kumuzilla.

Hugo is later seen after Rave heals Ronan. He leaves his son with Rave's officers, to be returned to the school, while assuring his son that he'll stay safe this time.

Lily

Lily is a very young girl with a Kindness soul who was at the school when the Bete Noire unleashed her blobs to harvest souls.

Appearance & Personality

Lily is a very grateful child, as seen when she immediately thanks her older brother, Cam, when he saves her from a blob. She is also understandably traumatized after witnessing his death, after he saves her again.

History

Do or Die

Bete launches her attack on the school for the soul harvest. There, Lily is being looked for by her brother when he wasn't able to find her in the cafeteria, the last place they were at. He then spots her in the hallways, running from a pink creature, and saves her with his Kindness magic when it corners her.

As they run to safety, however, a pink blob sneak-attacks them, and she witnesses her brother take the lethal blow in her place.

When the shield is about to break, Cam is saved by Robin, who destroys the tentacle. Toriel then arrives and tells the three of them to find a safe place.

However, the children remain in the hallways as Robin asks Cam about his missing sister. He explains that his little sister, Lily, was at the cafeteria prior to the attack, but that he was unable to find her and asks Abigail and Robin for their help. Abigail then notices a blob coming toward them. To her delight however, Frisk arrives to destroy it and accepts Cam's offer to find Lily.
